Well done to Marie Goulding. she has achieved something her big brother never managed.

Yes the great Johnny Goulding never got selected for the U18 Irish Panel but after some vigorous protesting by Johnny we must concede that he did flirt with glory when he was selected for two U21 Irish Training panels, however he didn't get the opportunity of being capped (Johnny will tell you this epic story of his struggle over a pint...if you have a weekend to spare...and the patience of Job). Regardless, as far as his team mates and family are concerned he will now be living in Maree's shadow and it now looks like she has bragging rights... But we all know the lovely Maree isn't the type to use this kind of leverage unless Johnny really deserved it!

Following the recent U18 Interpros in Cork on 22nd & 23rd November, Irish U18 coach Mary Logue has announced her squad as she continues preparations for the U18 Eurohockey Following on good performances in the recent interpros Marie Goulding has been called into the Irish under 18 panel.Nations Tournament which will take place in Belgium from 7th - 12th July 2009. The squad's first session will take place in Dublin on the 2nd & 3rd of January 2009.
