Two Men’s 4th team reports from recent weeks
Glens 4ths, are through the first round of the intermediate cup. Thanks to a great show of team work, and some super passing hockey. From the outset Glenanne came under a little pressure, though we quickly turned the tide as they seeked gaps in the North Kildare Defence. Our account was opened by Tadgh, scoring from the spot in a first half penalty flick. The second came from Eoin “GPS” Lynch, with a cracking goal, the third came from some fantastic solo work in the D from Ryan, nailing a great goal. Great assists and setups from John Kettle, notably the patented Keppel “Keel Over” play, which earned us our penalty flick!
It didn’t go all our way, Nrth Kildare gots some shots off, and Daire made some great saves. Though our defensive backline of Paul, Ciaran, & Dave, proved a little too much for the oppositions strikers.
Final score 3:0 away victory on a cold miserable Sunday afternoon.

Glens 4th found form again on Saturday, with a decisive home win against Fingal. After threathening some victories over passed weekends, only to come away with nothing, the passion, commitment, and desire to win, was palpable on Saturday. 3 great goals, Tadgh had an outstanding performance, bagging himself a goal for his efforts. Zane made a much appreciated appearance and nailed 2 great goals. Our forward line played solid passing hockey, created chances for themselves, and took the rewards!
Our defence also played well, some good saves from Daire in goals, and alot of energy and work rate from Rhys our sweeper. Ciaran, Sean and Dave formed an impenetrable wall. Fingal did get a consolation goal against the run of play.
Great game, and great performance from all of the team!!!
