Mens 4ths Match Report 5/11/2011
The mens 4ths got a roasting on a sunny Sunday at Glenanne Park when they came up against the promoted Athy side who won the league and cup double last year at a trot. The speed, technique and movement of Athy around the front as well as some solid defensive work and excellent goalkeeping saw the Glens go in at half time with five put past them. We battled better in the second half, creating chances through Ryan O’Malley and Darragh Murphy but with ten minutes to go the pace of the gqame got the better of the team and a late flurry of four goals from the rampant Athy frontline made for a scoreline of 9-0. More lessons and a challenge for the team next week
