Ladies Weekend Preview November 19th/20th 2011
The firsts are out against Loreto at 15.15 in Glenanne Park. Home advantage on there side the girls will be looking to throw everything at the visiting side and gain a home win on the table. The 2010/11 season saw the Glens narrowly loosing 2-1 in the quarter finals of the Irish Senior Cup and league results a 5-1 loss and 4-0 loss. On the back of last weeks performance the girls have been training hard this week trying to prevent such mistakes happening again. No doubt the girls have fire in their stomachs and will be out to set the record straight.
The 2nds take on Suttonians for the second time this season in Sutton at 12.30. The girls will be out for revenge after being knocked out of the division 3/4 cup by Sutton in October, the score line 2-1. The game was hard fought and played on a very wet pitch which didn’t play to the glens speedy game. The girls have spent the last few weeks building on their clinical play in the circle and will be looking to continue thier climb in the division 4 table. Suttonians have the same points as the Glens but have a better goal difference which is keeping them in 2nd. The top four teams on the table are playing each other this weekend (YMCA take on Swords) so this game could be make or break for the girls.
The thirds are out early this Saturday a 10.30 start in Glenanne Park against Guinness. Guinness are currently lying bottom of the table on zero points, five losses under their belts. The 3rds will be looking to return to form after their minor hiccup against Loreto two weeks ago. Guinness have failed to find their feet after demotion from division 9 last season, the Glens will not doubt try their hardest to prevent them finding them on saturday.
