Ladies Weekend Preview 12th/13th

The firsts are out in the Irish Senior Cup 2nd round on Saturday at 14.45 against Armagh Hockey Club in Armagh. The ladies will be looking to build on their strong and passionate performance against Trinity last weekend. The Glens unlucky to come out of the Trinity game with a draw. In the first round of the cup Armagh played UCC at home, winning 2-0. Armagh ladies compete in the Irish Hockey League, loosing last weekend 3-0 to Hermes. Other results from this years IHL for Armagh are 3-0 loss against UCD and a 2-1 loss against Catholic Institute. According to Ulster Hockeys website league table Armagh have only played 2 games so far in the league one win and one loss. The Glens have not come up against Armagh in recent years, but no doubt this will be a tough and spirited game for both sides. Best of luck to the ladies on Saturday.

The seconds are out on Sunday at 14.00 against Genesis in Glenanne Park. Genesis are currently in 6th position with 5 points one point behind the Glens. Genesis gained their points form a 3-0 win against Avoca and a 1-1 draw with Clontarf. The Glens played Genesis in a warm up game this season coming out on top winning 2-0. After a two weekend’s off the 2nds will be looking to brush off the cobwebs early and look for another three points to continue there creep up the table.

The thirds have a well deserved break this weekend, giving them time to reflect on last weekend. The thirds are currently in 5th position with 10 points, 3 points off the top. Enjoy the rest girls.
