4ths match review v TRR
Given the player shortages that meant the 5ths game was off the 4ths arrived to meet a well drilled and prepared TRR team at Grange Road with a team ranging in age from 15 to 72 which must be some kind of record. The early stages of the match saw rookie GK Daire Murphy suffer a three goal blitz from the talented and technically good TRR forward line before the Glens pulled one back on the break. Nevertheless at half time, despite competing well, it was a 5-1 deficit and we were looking at a heavy defeat. To the great credit of the players and their work rate, notably the tireless Darragh Murphy, the goal fest continued and the glens ended the day losing 7-5, in a match which found veteran left back turned striker Dermot Tobin set up the 5th goal. All in all there was a lot to take rom the match and the 4ths may be confident that the early season form will return.
scorers – Darragh Murphy (2), Rhys Coleman, Mick Tolan, Tadgh Murphy
