Match Report: vs Hermes

Final result not indicative of Close battle.

Glenanne started this fixture with nothing to lose against the current leaders of the leinster league, with an abundance of international talent on hand this would never be an easy contest. Having said that the Glens started well especially defensively against some fierce attack. A well worked team goal mid way through the first half fell to hermes and the half ended with this being the only difference between the sides.

The second half started with the Glens looking confident with regular midfielder Audrey McCormack being well supported by Paula Fitzpatrick and Maolisa Nugent who slotted seemlessly onto her flanks, having stand out performances in this match up. Unfortunately once again unable to finish off some well worked moves and corners and having a superbly finished goal from McCormack being disallowed because the umpire did not allow for advantage led to the Glens unable to get anything onto the score board. Unfortunately 2 lapses in defensive concentration allowed Hermes to score twice before the final whistle leaving the score at 3-0 which was not reflective of a tightly contested match between these 2 sides.
