Match Report: vs UCD

Glenanne v UCD – 11-1

Glennane took care of bottom side UCD with minimum of fuss on Saturday.

Jonathan Kane completed a hatrick in the first 10 minutes, all three coming from deflections the last of which came from a sweeping full pitch move.

Shane O’Donoghue made it 4-0 just before half time, tapping in at the back post after a penetrating run from Gary Shaw.

It was 7-0 quickly after the break, O’Donoghue converting a Kane pull back, Gary Shaw finding the net via a defenders stick and Joe Brenann converting a penalty corner.

David Shaw got the eight, the goal of the game, making a tackle in his 25 then surging up field to finish off the counter at the back post.

Eddie O’Malley got the 9th playing a one two with Stephen Brownlow and sliding home before UCD denied Glennane the clean sheet when a lapse in concentration allowed Ben Dobson to finishing over Stephen Doran.

O’Malley then got his second, taking down a Gary Shaw flick and rounding the keeper before Fred van der Weij rounded of the scoring with a back post tap in.
