Glenanne 3rds V Botanic
Saturday the 12th and the challenge for the thirds was to attempt to keep Botanic at bay. Botanic are currently topping the Division 10 table with a tally of around 33 goals to date so this was not going to be an easy task. The game started off at a fast pace with Botanic on the attack from the start, not sure how any one else felt but I certainly felt they had more players than us! Anyway we held them off for the first 15 minutes with keeper Catherine making some terrific saves but despite our best efforts their first goal came leaving the score 1-0 at half time. After a bit of a talking to by Coach Paul we went out to redeem our selves in the second half, however despite some great attacks by Niamh Mc and Sinead the chances were few and not rewarded. Oh and Botanic also managed to get in another 2 goals. Final score 3-0 boo hoo!!!! Well done to Sinead Ahern who got lady of the match and a big thanks to Catherine and Roisin for helping is out and also to Kevin O’Malley who agreed to umpire for us last minute on Saturday morning. Hopefully the result will be the opposite way around on Saturday against Trinity.
