Men’s 4th’s fall to sloppy defeat
Fingal arrived in Glenanne Park with a strong side but the opening stanza of the game was even enough, with an early short corner strike for either side failing to find the target.
The northsiders opened the scoring midway through the half when their left-winger pick-pocketed Andy Kennedy near the penalty spot and finished. They doubled the lead near the half-tiem hooter when Stephen Duff slapped into an empty net after a quick counter-attack.
The game looked dead and buried minutes after the break when a short corner rebound was converted but Glenanne made one final push to get back in the match.
A cross-field aerial from Ryan O’Malley found his cousin David and he took it down on the run before half-volleying home. A few more corner chances went astray while Ryan O’Malley and Mick Jordan both went close but the home side ran out of steam.
The visitors sealed the victory with two late goals, one from an error from Rhys Coleman. The result leaves the fourth team in 7th position in Division 6.
