Match Report: Glenanne 3rds V Trinity
The ladies 3rds turned up in force in what started off as a beautiful sunny day, which unfortunately did not last long!! The game tipped off fast and furious for the first fifteen minutes, unfortunately, the Trinity team breaking through the Glens defence to score. Things then started to settle down and the ladies 3rds started to gel together with some fantastic opportunities coming towards the end of the first half – unfortunately none of which found the back board!!
After a very motivational half time talk, the Glens came back on to the pitch with heads held high and tried their utmost to break through the Trinity defence, and managed to do so on a few occasions, with some fantastic scoring opportunities. We had a very strong defence on the day, who managed to keep the Trinity opportunities in the second half to a minimum, with Aoife playing a stormer in goal. Player of the match went to a well deserved Amy, who seemed to have grown wings and was covering the pitch wherever she was needed! A win on the 6th November was not to be unfortunately, but better luck this Saturday!!
