Another early start for Glenannes’ 2nd’s away to Railway Union resulting in a difficult and trying loss. Glenanne fought against a very rough and physical RU side. RU scored a goal per half, 1st by penalty stroke and 2nd from play. Glenanne came out fighting but the RU press held them back. Every attempt made in the oppositions’ 23 was thwarted by their sweeper. She dominated the circle, preventing almost every effort to break through. RU took advantage of her strength, funnelling our mids and forwards directly to her. Our 2nd’s worked hard, defended well and came off battered, bruise and with a distinct sore taste in their mouths.
Thanks to Catherine Kennedy for doing side-line and Susan for coming out to umpire.
