Ladies second team lost out to Alex
Glenanne dominated this very intense match against Old Alex however they didn’t convert opportunities into goals. From the whistle the home side created chance after chance but, despite this intense pressure and a number of short corners, failed to score. Old Alex punished Glenanne for this and were first to register a goal, against the run of play late in the first half. Shortly after this wake-up call, a quickly taken free hit by Clare Shillington just outside the 25 was deflected into the goal by Orlagh to equalise before half-time. Glenanne continued to press for a winner in the 2nd half, creating more chances and winning several more short corners. Unfortunately, the home side were again unable to convert any of these while Alex took their chance and all the points.
