Ladies play out tough draw with Bray

The game started very positively for Glenanne as they controlled the game by holding possession and were rewarded early on with a well earned short corner by some fancy stick work from young player Maolisa Nugent. This was clinically executed with pinpoint precision from our ever accurate Kate O Connor who found Derbhla Kieran in acres of space to finish a good short corner routine, which put the Glens in an early lead.

This was a short lived advantage as Bray applied some counter-attack pressure and were rewarded with a soft short corner with their first circle penetration which they duly dispatched after 3 phases. Parity remained until half time.

Glens came out fighting in the second half but couldnt convert their dominance into goals. With one hairy moment late in the second half ably dealt with by Susan Byrne and Louise Kennedy there was far more chances that fell to the Glens forwards, with Rebecca O Rielly standing out with some lovely runs upfront.

Whilst The Glens are happy to gain a much needed point from this away fixture, they could be justified in their disappointment in not taking a very valuable 3 points. A deserved player of the match award went to the ever solid Louise Kennedy.
