Men’s Firsts take on Corinthian

“In an interview with the Irish Independent, Corinthian captain Andrew Sutton says the mood is still high in the reds’ camp despite Glenanne’s recent comeback from the dead in the IHL.

They led 4-1 with seven minutes to go but suffered a late meltdown as the Glens fought their way to a draw. Revenge would be the perfect form of exorcism for those mental scars, not least as it would get them a first win of the campaign.

Glenanne, though, are aiming to peak with next week’s EHL in mind. More and more patches of full potential have been reached in the ties against Fingal, Corinthian and Monkstown and if Graham Shaw can gets a full 70 minute performance, the Tallaght side will be incredibly tough to beat.

Shane O’Donoghue is emerging ever still as a real powerhouse in midfield while corner options are many and varied.
Corinthian stormed to a late season success last time the sides met at the tail-end of the Leinster campaign but hostilities are very much renewed this weekend with plenty on the line.”
