Ladies 3rds V Mullingar

After the long trek to Tullamore, we eventually began our match at 5pm, yes that is right 5pm!! The opposition was Mullingar. The first half saw both teams pretty evenly matched, and after a lot of ducking and diving to avoid some high flying sticks and balls, it remained nil all at half time. We began the second half strong but Mullingar got a goal. We quickly followed with a great goal from Orlagh. However this did not deter Mullingar, and they came back strong, scoring twice after some super saves by our goalie, Susie. The Glens did not give up and brought the action down to the Mullingar defence resulting in a short corner, which Niamh Aherne managed to convert. Unfortunately another goal was not to be had, so the final score was 3-2 to Mullingar. Player of the match went to Holly who had an outstanding game. It was close decision with Lynda, Amy and Susie also playing superbly. A big thanks must go to Lady captain Susan who came all the way to umpire for us. This was straight after her own game and after also umpiring for the seconds.
